This was used as the inside front cover and back cover to issue #3 of the original 3 issue Monkey Man and O'Brien mini-series from 1996. Art size is 9 1/4" X 12 3/4" on a 14" X 17" sheet of bristol. Art is to the left,with mainly blank space to the right. (Signed by Arthur on the open side and dated 4/97, after publication). There is also a very light, unfinished blue pencil sketch of Quash (small) on that side, along with the faint outline of the continuation of Quash's left shoulder pad.

Gosh, I really miss the fact that we never got to see a Monkeyman & O'Brien ongoing series. I know Arthur isn't known for much in the way of ongoing series (never has been), but I think it would have been fun to see. Also, given more time to flesh out the characters and find his way as a writer, I think Art could have really turned this into something great.

I totally agree...it has been awhile since we've seen any Monkeyman and O'Brien strips...Jonni Future I suppose has replaced them for the time being.

I remember this piece floating around for a while, and every time it came across my radar, I would say to myself that I really should just buy it, but each time I made some lame excuse not to. Glad you gave it a good home, it's a pretty cool piece actually.

Thanks, man...I've had this one now for about 8-10 years...Picked it up from Blackline Fever Art...you can still see it on their site. Wish I had picked up those three X-Men Annual pages as well!

Good for you! I've had some of my Art Adams pieces for 25 years or more, so I really admire other people who keep their art long term. As for your piece still being on the Blackline site, it's really a pet peeve of mine when dealers don't update their websites! Especially in this case, when you've had the thing for 10 years! Sheesh! Sorry, just venting! LOL

Lol..well, at least for all the pieces that were sold there's a big 'SOLD' sign over them, so it's all good. Interesting to see the pieces that were available at one time. If it was just up there, as if it were still for sale, then, yeah, it'd be crappy. As for holding onto my acquisitions, I've got just about every single piece I've ever gotten, save for maybe one or two. I almost put up for sale once my Art Adams Cap head doodle, but, thought, why? For the $50 (or less) I might get? I'll just hold onto it...no way I'd ever part with Quash! :)
