I didn't get a lot at ECCC this year, but I made it count for what I did get.
Honestly, when i first had this laid out, I don't know how I forgot to ask for Starfire. Major brain fart, but there was enough space to add her, so in keeping with the Pacific Northwest artists, I asked long time fav Matt Haley to add her in.
Matt was hoping I would go with classic Starfire by George Perez and I scoffed at the idea of anything else. Matt did a killer job on Nightwing's favorite alien, but said he didn't have his color markers on him and was wondering grayscale was okay. I said sure, but in keeping with the Batgirl and Huntress, I still wanted it colored.
Well, just my luck, one of the best colorists in the business, the great Laura Martin was doing color commissions at the show. I asked her if she had time for both Starfire and Gwen, and she seemed very enthusiastic, and that shows in the results. I still can't believe that Gwen was colored by hand. Laura killed it. Must be because she's a metalhead.
Talked to another artist about Mary Jane...it's going to be a doozy...
