I have ideas. This is one of them.

The Blackest Night has hit the small podunk white trash town of South Park, CO. The dead have risen, and heroes such as Mysterion and Mintberry Crunch are unable to stop the hordes. Now, some of the town's most . . . unique residents have found themselves with power rings of the emotional spectrum. Can they defeat the Black Lanterns of South Park?

Butters seemed like the logical choice to wield the light of compassion. He's very cheery, even though he's the target of abuse of his fellow classmates (especially Eric Cartman, who delights in making him an accomplice of his many schemes), and he has the worst parents in South Park. And when you factor in Liane Cartman (rampaging slut) and Randy Marsh (goes into Homer Simpson schemes every few weeks), that's saying something. Butters cares about everybody, even if that isn't reciprocated. Also, he tends to roleplay as versions of himself (Inspector Butters, Mailman Butters, Porn Star Butters, etc.), and that could be compared to how the Indigo Tribe can replicate the powers of the other Corps of the emotional spectrum. In recent issues of Green Lantern, it was revealed that the Indigo Tribe were among the worst psychopaths in the universe, whose emotions are blocked out by their rings, save for that of compassion. Sounds like Professor Chaos to me.
