DescriptionI was able to get in with a few others on a once in a lifetime opportunity to get an 11x17 full figure, inked with background piece by Dave. I wont waffle on, but Watchmen for me is beyond what would normally be described as a comic. It's high art accompanied by literature. It is unequalled. I needed all of half a second to ask for Rorschach, and my only request was that Comedians bloody badge be featured and it be set in the street outside his apartment.When Dave presented me with this piece, he proceeded to gush about it, which almost made me as happy as the art itself. He told me that even on the rare occasion he ever takes on commissions, it's almost always Rorschach and he tends to switch to autopilot. He then said that wasn't the case with this one, and that he was actually "quite proud of it". Then he began pointing out Easter Eggs within the piece, and that next ten or so minutes I spent with him made me (I'd like to think both of us) feel like kids again, and it was a moment I'll forever cherish. sometimes an artist turns out a piece that is just perfection, a complete embodiment of their ability and style. THIS is one of those pieces.
