Description

"Hiya doll, wanna piece of fruit?" an Australian accented Wolverine says to Firestar in this scene. This Wolverine cel (sadly missing the fruit cel layer) is from 1982's season 2 episode 3, "A Firestar is Born" in his first animated appearance. One of only 4 episodes of Spider-man and his Amazing Friends to be animated by Toei in Japan. The story is about Firestar explaining her origins to the X-men and along with Spidey, teaming up to defeat the Juggernaut. Neil Ross, who voiced Wolverine in this episode, would reprise his odd Australian accent once again for Wolverine in 1989 for the X-men pilot "Pryde of the X-men".

Oh shit! You have the actual "Hey doll, ya wanna pice uh froot?" cell?!?! Oh god, I can't tell you how much I loved this series and especially seeing Wolverine come to animated live in this episode. That line was seared into my memory and is literally the ONLY line I remember from the entire episode! You're very fortunate to own this Tommy, kudos!
