DescriptionFor me, this was one of the most influential pieces of Whilce's art from his early Marvel years. It really burned itself into my mind the first time I saw it hanging on a comic shop wall (New England Comics in Quincy)I put this up there with Uncanny 281-282 and XF 65-66 as the best covers of his early career. Personally, there's no cover I'd rather have of his than this one. This was also a piece that has a fairly humble acquisition story....it showed up on eBay and nobody bid but me. Cool:) CONDITION: The piece did come with some sunlight damage from being hung for years. The blacks are all crisp but the paper has gone off-white. The glue has dried and most of the stats are loose or fallen off. Social/Sharing |

Great piece. This is Whilce' first piece that got me looking for all comics with his artwork. Congratulations.

Truly one of his best work!! Definitely one of my all-time faves. Whilce and Mike Zeck hands down on drawing Punisher as he should be drawn. Peace!!-Berns

An iconic cover! I remember when this sweet comic came out, great story line, and a fabulous cover. Whilce, for me, was one of the best that came out of the nineties.

I agree with Maria, Portacio was such a fresh force back in the '90s, and this is a great great example!

Whilce was/is one of the most underrated artists from the early 90's. I love Scott Williams razor sharp inking during this period. This is dangerous!

GREAT cover. I remember it coinciding with Daredevil 257. I used to flip through both of those books constantly as a kid. Congrats on owning such a sweet piece!
