Description

I consider this piece the gem of my small collection for a few reasons. The first is due the art itself--I believe this is the single most detailed rendition of a Turtle in the entire Mirage series. I also happen to think it's one of the best executed renditions. This was far enough along that Kevin and Peter had really nailed the aesthetic of the TMNT, and this piece really captures that.

Another reason why I love this piece is because I remember it clearly from when I was younger. I tried to trace it numerous times in order to reproduce what I thought was the most bad-ass picture of a Turtle ever.

Lastly, Issue 11 marks the last time Peter and Kevin worked together on the series before bringing in other artists. While I think the other artists they brought into the Mirage family did a great job with the series, this issue marks an end to an era.

I purchased this via an eBay listing. I had seen it via an old Heritage listing, and had wanted to purchase it immediately, so when I saw it come up via an eBay search recently, I just about flipped out.
