This is the original painting published as the cover to the vintage Gothic paperback novel Red Wine of Rapture by Margaret Worth in 1977. This piece is very reminiscent of Enric's work on the Warren magazines of the early 70's. One could easily see this cover being used for an issue of Eerie or Creepy. As such, it's no wonder at all that it was used for one of 12 covers in Avon's "Satanic Gothic" series!
