Description

This piece by Steve Rude portrays Scott Summers and Jean Grey on their date at the Rainbow Room in Rockfeller Center shortly before the Sentinels launch their fateful attack in Uncanny X-Men #98 (1976). I loved the featurette by Chris Claremont and John Bolton in Classic X-Men #6 (1987) that showed Jean preparing for the evening and I was confident that Steve Rude could do an amazing piece of the couple.

I love scenes of superheroes being normal- and Rude is a master of expression and body language- the look on Scott's face is something every guy on a big date can relate to! Fantastic piece.
