DescriptionThis is one of those pages that really makes you realize why you collect comic art in the first place. I was 10 years old when I picked up this issue of X-Men and I never looked back. Byrne is a lot of collectors favorite X-Men artist but I would have to say, without a doubt Paul Smith is mine. Nobody else has ever owned this page but Paul and I’m sure he kept it for as long as he did for sentimental reasons (Mainly because it was one of the very few X-Pages that he both pencilled and inked). I’m honored to own it.Social/Sharing |

Paul Smith's X-Men is a big favorite of mine also. His art is so clean and he carries his style consistently throughout each story. He's a master at bringing characters and scenes to life, through perfectly drawn expressions, varying postures, stunning backgrounds and great perspectives. Congrats on acquiring a superb example of his work on the X-Men!

I'm a big fan of Paul especially on his run of Uncanny X-Men.Hos work on this page is devotional. I think's there's merit in that he completed the entire art project.pg 27 is so well designed and delivers an emotional appeal to the reader's senses.I am glad you got a page this lovely.

Paul Smith's art on Uncanny is balanced, clean, timeless, perfectly planned ad executed. This is a great example. Look at the symmetry of the size and camera work of he top and bottom panels. Priceless!

So glad this page went to a loving home! When I think about the distinctive traits of Paul's X-Men, two things that come to mind immediately are how he handled Colossus's muscles and the shine in Kitty's hair--both on great display here. Congrats Steve!

Congrats on the pickup! I didn't grow up with this era of X-Men, but I'm slowly appreciating Paul Smith's work on the title. This is a beautiful page, and it's always amazing to own a page by your favorite artist on a title.

2 characters deep in thought juxtaposed by completely different settings. Static vs dynamic. Beautiful page by an great artist.

Great page and I don't know how I missed you posting. I was having lunch with OG today and he mentioned this pick up. Great imagery and transition of scenes...I need to take another look at the source material.
