Description

While flipping through the pages of Star Wars: Comics Art book back in 2011, Paul Pope’s two page paneled artworks commissioned by George Lucas caught my eye. It depicted a scene of Han and Chewie facing off the Imperial Probe Droid on planet Hoth from The Empire Strikes Back. There was no dialogue. Just sound effects inside few of the panels. Yet, it drew me right into the story with excitement. I felt the tense silence before the confrontation, the chill of the cold wind and the thrill from the Probot's ultimate destruction. I instantly became a fan of Paul Pope. After seeing this book, I thought how awesome it would be to get Paul's commission of my favorite sequence from The Empire Strikes Back one day.

Fast-forward six years to summer of 2017; I got a rare opportunity to propose a commission to Paul through my friend Felix Lu. After some going back and forth, I learned that Paul really liked the proposed idea. Once we all agreed, it was on! Today, Felix kindly dropped off the commissioned pieces and wow, I couldn't be any happier. Take a look for yourself. Many thanks to Paul and Felix!!! Each page measures a whopping 19" X 24".

You're welcome, Han! Without question, one of the coolest commissions I've ever managed for an artist and collector. If for no other reason, the sheer size of these pieces...each measuring 19"X24"! Thanks and congrats again!
