DescriptionIn the same vein as my "Back in Black" hommage by Ron Garney and my Scarlet Spider by Steven Butler, this was the last piece in that "personal commission" trifecta. While all commissions are inherently personal, these three have a dedicated story.For this one: Sean Chen's work on Sensational Spider-Man (and more specifically the Black Cat story where she fights Rhino) was the very first comic I picked up from the rack in a newspaper store. I had some older comics before, but this one was "new" back then, in 2007. I read that Dutch translated version over and over. So I asked Sean for an hommage to his work in that comic. He really - and I mean really - worked with me here. He proposed two figures (and made an online poll to see which one was most popular); then we thought a long time about the background. Since the "nice set" remark by the biker in the comics always made me crack up, we decided to do a tasteful nod to that one. Of course, this one had to be personalized, since this is never ever leaving my collection! Thanks again, Sean! Underneath also a version without background, an image of that poll I talked about, as well as an earlier sketch idea of that "nice set" joke. This one is a more direct reference. But it felt off. Awesome! Love seeing Sean show out like this. Great lines on both the Cat and the bike! Congrats!
