DescriptionRed Sonja 'Price Of Blood' #1, variant cover by David Finch, 2021, pencil & ink on 11" x 17" comic art bristol.DF has done a number of Red Sonja commissions, but this is his first published cover of the She-Devil With A Sword. Done as an exclusive Indiegogo campaign project. For reasons that escape me, we spent an inordinate amount of time trying to ignore, then talk ourselves out of, acquiring this one; having finally relented, we're very glad we did. I'm tempted to cite the 'it wasn't a good time to spend money' rationale, but in all our years of collecting, there've been precious few instances when the budget outstripped the temptations. Part of my brain wants to say that axe she's carrying is a bit... big. Then again, those giants she's vanquished would require special equipment to take out, so why not? Spectacular detail and textured surfaces, the perfect type of subject matter for DF's current work. Social/Sharing |

Full metal Finch. A knockout job as always. I'm sure this was quite an investment but I'll bet seeing this in person shows where all that money went. Detail and textures and detailed textures! Congrats!

Shocking that you guys would pick up something like this. Unless one knew how much you loved this character and Dave's art. Just a wonderful example of what great Sonja art can be! Congrats!

The work put in the inking must have been quite satisfying to have it turn out so flawless. CGC would grade it a 10.0 just based on how little wrong they can find.

She Devil with a sword...and axe! Love the detail throughout, and how she's looking right at the viewer with that sly smile after just handling her business. And I agree - BIG axe was needed so that's what she used :) Congrats!

Jaw-dropping, flawless David Finch piece - a treasure by any measure. Stunning detail perfectly capturing all the power, swagger, danger, and beauty that IS the She-Devil With A Sword. Epic pick up - congrats!!
