Description

With the imminent MCU debut of my favorite c-list Avenger, Jacques Duquesne (aka the Swordsman!), figured it was time to post this fantastic headshot by Kevin Maguire I commissioned a few years ago. What hasn't already been said elsewhere about Maguire's facial expressions -- his ability to connote the character's personality is unmatched. I love the smirk with a touch of arrogance and who doesn't love the stache!

A real swashbuckling scoundrel! The color work is impressive in this piece to leave some areas to reflect more of the white light.

Great point Marcus -- the light source to the left is well executed by his color choice/execution. Maguire is top notch with markers.

Maguire really captured the essence of the character as he appears in the Hawkeye series, years before the series was even conceived. That's talent!

Leave it to Kevin Maguire to create such a perfect headshot of the Swordsman, capturing his arrogant smarminess.
