Description

Punisher commission penciled by the legend, John Romita Jr, and inked by Scott Hanna. This was setup through Clan McDonald. I just requested Punisher to be drawn battle damaged in a trench coat and a shotgun. And I wanted lots of heavy rain to set the gritty mood. I loved how it all came out.

The art is on 11x17.

JRJR's style fits the street level antiheroes with more gritty and raw energy. Adding the element of downpouring rain elevates that dramatic look even further.

I remember way back around 1992, when JR Jr. was doing the art on a second Punisher series and was immediately blown away at how he gave the character a more of a rough edge look. IMO, he is the best artist to have ever done the character.
