Description

One of my favorite pieces and stories. At the Chicago con and after rounding on his tables waiting for �forever� the boss shows up! He had a long night and was just sitting down at the table to enjoy his lunch salad. I asked if he could do a commission for me and he was like �dude I�m eating��I feel bad about this now but at the time in my excitement and trying to play with him I replied �man if you got time for a salad you got time for me��.to my amazement he put down the only thing he had eaten for the day and was like �what�s up what you want?� I was shocked�unprepared�I wanted Angelus but I didn�t know I needed to bring paper or anything. He grabbed some paper from another person at a table nearby, looked at me and said, �one condition, I�ll draw but the minute you walk away I stop��thankfully I had a cooler to help carry things so I sat down at his table. Eric talked to me and other fans for the next four plus hours. Famous artists and comic names came and shook his hand while I got to listen to the small talk of my idols. An amazing day, however He didn�t finish the piece yet. Eric told me to come back the next day and same deal �you�re here and I�ll draw you�re not here I�m doing my own thing�. I was there the next day waiting and as promised he showed up and gave me a �what�s up boss� took out my commission and went back to work. Man the stories he told, the fans, he had a iPad or something with his art on screensaver while I watched him make this. I think he likely put 6-8 hours on this. Honestly I was so excited time completely escaped me. One of the best cons ever and one of my most treasured comic experiences.
