DescriptionI used own this piece prior to 2008 and at the time I was thrilled to own a Bruce Timm Doctor Strange piece. I love Bruce Timms art style which for me goes back to his work on Batman: The Animated Series. Bruce Timm filled the whole paper with some Doctor Strange goodness. So it was disappointing to have to sell this but I didn't have a choice at the time. Fast forward to 2025 and with some luck it's mine again. This piece looks even more amazing in person and I'm one happy collector.Social/Sharing |

Bruce Timm is well known for his drawings of good girls, but I actually prefer his drawings of regular heroes. This illustration of Doctor Strange is a great example. Bruce's style is perfect for capturing the likenesses of superheroes and giving them a sylized look. The simplicity of his style makes his renderings of superheroes need to be simplified down to the basics of each character. I love this one and I like the addition of the looming thunderstorm behind him. Fantastic pick-up, congrats!

Whenever I see Bruce do a Marvel character I get so excited. But I can't help but wonder how HE feels about drawing them. He IS a DC guy after all. So does he actually have MORE fun doing these (since he's known more for DC and doesn't do them a lot), or is he less comfortable because he's not as familiar with them? This is a FANTASTIC Doc Strange. Honestly, it's probably one of the best Timm drawings I've ever seen. And with all due respect to the likes of Frank Brunner, Paul Smith, Michael Golden, and Kevin Nowlan - it's also one of the very best Doctor Strange pieces I've ever seen as well. Wow, wow, wow!

A great image of the good Doctor. The angle is fabulous for making him look more heroic.
