IMO, there is nothing like a Pete Hawley Jantzen ad from the 1950s!

Little is known about Pete Hawley, but his expansive body of work is a testament to his mastery in creating beautiful women, handsome men, cute children, and adorable animals.

This is for the "cara amica" ("beloved friend" in Italian, but you already knew that, right?) swim suit (that featured "Crinkelastic") and skirt. According to the ad, both the suit and skirt were made of the finest cotton and adorned with full color Florintine stripes. $8.95 for the swim suit (size nine to fifteen) and $6.95 for the skirt (small, medium, large).

15" x 22" on illustration board.

Hey Constant. I must admit that it's frustrating to not have discovered this piece on CAF until now, almost 4 years after it was uploaded, but then I'm just happy that illustration art is even allowed and accepted on a site intended for comic art, so I'm happy nonetheless. Congrats on owning this piece, it's beautiful!
