Description

This is a B4-sized (I think) pencil study of the Baroness. The paper is smudged/discoloured heavily on the top right of the image (maybe due to age or improper storage) just behind the Baroness's head with some additional discoloration just above her shoulder (top centre). Contrast has been boosted and the smudging has been "healed" via a photo-editing software. However, the actual figure of the Baroness is not affected by the smudging - and a Hughes is a Hughes, after all! The orange frame is my virtual embellishment and does not feature on the actual art. Further, I scanned this piece in two parts, so the stitch is, sad to say, quite evident.
