Ultra cool piece !! I'd never heard of this character... when was this illustration created ? Is it recent ?

Hey Gal, thanks! He first appeared in Uncanny XMen #215 along with Stonewall and Crimson Commando. They were all WW2 vets who fought together during the war. If memory serves the Marvel Universe books came out during the late 80's, so this would have been created during that time.
