Description

AXM Issue 3 pg 21-22.

Loving this new series and have been looking to get something of Stuart's for a while now. I enquired about a few covers but they were all sold.

Somehow I stumbled upon a preview of issue 3 which had this splash and asked Tom from Fanfare. Fortunately, this was still available and according to Tom, Wade von Grawbadger, Stuart's regular inker, said it was his favourite piece that he and Stuart had worked on together. Pretty cool.

Big thanks to Tom for organising, he's always a pleasure to deal with.

Phenomenal piece, d. Fantastic composition and lighting, and the inking is absolutely off the charts. I love the arc of the lights/speed lines in the sky above, and how it effectively closes everything in (as opposed to letting the image "lie flat", as it were). Beautiful, beautiful piece. Stuart and Wade were -SO- invested into this project and it shows on every regular page. On a page like this...? It knocks you over the head (...while also kindly setting a chair behind you to collapse into so you can read your comic). Incredible! Congrats again, d!
