Starman is the reason I collect art. This series really meant a lot to me as a teen/twenty something and revitalized my interest in reading comics. If it hadn't been for this series I would've given up on collecting comic books when I got to high school. Like many I felt a sort of kinship with Jack and there were an awful lot of similarities with my life in regards to the father/son relationship. Also the stark contrast between New Opal and Old Town was something I could see in my own home city which had gone through serious changes in the 70s.
