The person who sold me this sketch and the notes told me: “My brother bought these sketches and many other items from a man who lived downstairs from the Gottfredsons for 20 years. When Floyd’s health deteriorated, his children put him retirement type facility. At that time the children packaged up Floyd and Mattie's possessions and threw out what was not wanted. This man rescued from the trash virtually all that was thrown out. This was in 1987 when my brother bought the Gottfredson items.”
