1970's SAL and JOHN BUSCEMA ART
When I started reading comics as a 8 year old, I didn't know a thing about comic book artists. However, I eventually noticed that all of my favorite comics shared a common link- they all contained the name, "Sal Buscema." The name was in Sub-Mariner 34, Avengers 87 & 88, Defenders 1 and Captain America 151... it seemed to be everywhere! The name was also on my favorite covers too, comics like Iron man 38, Daredevil 79, Captain America 137 and Sub-Mariner 39. Even my all-time favorite comic, Fantastic Four 112, had the name "Buscema" in it... the very name seemed to stand for great art. When I later realized Sal had a big brother named John, I found the other artistic hero of my youth.
