David Lapham was one of my favorite artists to come out of Valiant, and Harbinger (which he drew) was my favorite Valiant title back in their early days. His art isn't the flashiest, but his storytelling is incredible. When he and Jim Shooter left Valiant to launch Defiant, I was all over Plasm #0, which was the first comic to be told with a trading card set. Plasm was very cool visually, and again, it was Lapham who helped you get into that world. He has since gone on to do his own book, Stray Bullets, which garnered him an Eisner, and has done great work for Marvel, DC, and others. I hope to get more of his art as time goes on, but primarily the '90s stuff from Valiant & Defiant. This gallery is for all the Defiant art and the Valiant stuff is in that gallery. I do have some Defiant art by others in this gallery as well, but Jim Shooter (as writer) and David Lapham (as artist) were why I was following Defiant. But there were other great artists there as well, such as JG Jones, who got his start there.
