A Great Tantra: - Medieval Indian Comics in Stone - Khajuraho

To enjoy this order klick "Change Room to Order Alphabetically by Title."! - - - - - - - - - - - - - On the outer wall of these ca. 20 temples thousands of sculptures show all kind of emotions to the visitor of puja (service to the deity). Only after cleansing of her/his soul the faithful is allowed to the inner space of the temple and bow to the godhead. This is a path of clarification of the soul. What those sculpturists created in stone is a kind of comics. The whole set of temples has been declared a heritage of mankind by UNESCO. I am convinced that these temples are the greatest art of India. It is worth to visit them as a spiritual tourist and go deep into the psychic and spiritual impressions. Watch a group of sculptures for a long time and feel what it creates in your soul - and then go to the sanctum sanctorum (the shrine) and adore the godhead. So the temples are not mere art, they are more, may be a means for psychotherapy or even spiritual therapy. May be that the final goal was enlightenment for the seaker.
