I have always loved Angel's work. He combined hyper-detail with great exaggerations to the point where they can border on abstraction. Warlock and the Infinity Watch #1 was a bargain-bin book that helped get me hooked. I have had the pleasure of meeting him at 7 or 8 cons, and I always have questions about that series to ask him. He loved to tell the story of how he was asked who his "dream inker" would be for his first issue. He told Starlin, "Terry Austin". He didn't hear back for quite some time, then at some point Starlin calls him and tells him that he got his friend Terry to ink the pages. Angel still has the cover to issue 1.
