Evanger, Arne
I recently chanced upon a bunch of original art by Norwegian-born Arne Evanger, an obscure 1930s cartoonist.
According to information dug out by Sara W. Duke, Curator of Popular & Applied Graphic Art at the Library of Congress's Prints & Photographs Division, he was born in 1905 and died in 1975 in Norway. He apparently immigrated to the US in 1929 and went on to live with an uncle in Chicago where he worked as a commercial artist.
Enjoy these drawings reminiscent of the French cartoonist Albert Dubout.
