Dan Brereton

Dan Brereton(b. 22 November 1965, USA) is a painter, illustrator and comics writer from the San Fransisco Bay Area. Brereton was just barely out of art school, when he bursted onto the comic scene in 1989 with the award-winning 'Black Terror' mini-series for Eclipse Comics. He is best known for his work as the creator-owned comic book 'Nocturnals', which is published by Oni Press. Throughout the years, Brereton has painted a large amount of comic book covers and interiors, including for such titles as 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer', 'Legends of the World's Finest', 'Clive Barker's Dread', 'Batman', 'Ultimate Spider-Man', 'Conan', 'Giantkiller', and 'Birds of Prey'. With Jim Hudnall, he created the mini-series 'The Psycho', which has been acquired by Universal Pictures to a be a major motion picture. Brereton has been nominated many times for several different industry and fan awards. Outside the comic book field, Brereton has done package art for the 'Machine Head' video game, concept art for Pressman Films and the TV show 'Numb3rs' and album covers for bands like Toto, Fireball Ministry and Rob Zombie's Hellbilly Deluxe. Image Comics collected his best work in the book 'Dan Brereton: The Goddess & The Monster' in 2010.
