Edd Ashe Romantic Western #1 "The Tall Stranger" (Fawcett, 1949). Of the 10-page story only page 4 is missing. Fawcett tried to blend love stories and cowboy stories in this title, and in this story it worked - the man Laura thinks she loves is the man suspected of shooting her brother. Edd Ashe worked on Don Winslow and other realistic Fawcett heroes in the 1940s and lends a realistic touch to this tale as well. The 13" x 18" pages have numerous blue pencil notations.
