Sketchbook Art
In 2010, Carmine Infantino was the featured comic guest at the Superman Celebration in Metropolis, IL. Since I did not own a DC Showcase #4, I settled on getting my Star Wars #14 signed. It was not the first issue Carmine Infantino had pencilled, but it featured all the main Star Wars characters. While I was standing in line, Mr. Infantion did a head sketch of Batgirl. I was absolutely blown away by how quickly he could turn a blank piece of paper into an amazing piece of art with just a few movements of his hands and a pencil. After getting a photo and having my comic signed, I left the Superman Celebration. After leaving I realized how big of an idiot I was for not getting a sketch from one of comic's master artists. I promised myself I would not miss that opportunity again. So now, every comic convention I attend I try to get at least two or three sketches from some of the artist attendees.
