Krigstein, Bernie "The Good Luck Piece" (EC) SOLD

Complete story from Aces High # 4. The plane flown by the American pilots is a SPAD ( Société Pour Aviation Derives ) S.XIII. Perhaps the best Allied plane in WWI. Manifactured in 8,742 ex and equipped with a Hispano-Suiza engine ( 235hp ). Top speed 136 mph. 2 synchronized Vickers machine-guns made up the armament. In spite of being French in design and production it was used by all Allied Airforces. The foremost American Ace was Captain Edward "Eddie" Rickenbacker with 26 victories. The German Plane is a Fokker D.VII, the best German WWI plane. More than 2,000 ex. were manifactured. Equipped with a Mercedes engine ( 160 hp ) Top speed 115 mph. Very easy to fly and manoeuvre. Armed with 2 synchronized Spandau machine-guns. The airplane type was the only one to be explicitly mentioned in the Peace Treaty, as it was stated that all should be handed over to the Allied.
