Kim Possible by STEPHEN SILVER and animation artists

      My niece Riley introduced this fun show to me. First season director Chris Bailey, one time member of comicart-l, and character designer Stephen Silver were exhibitors at San Diego in 2002. Chris was promoting his own Major Damage efforts. Stephen had My Sketchbook and a Wildlife Force comic book. They kindly drew sketches for Riley which was a big thrill for her. When my brother Stuart showed the sketches to her at home, she walked around to all the adults to show them off and declare: "It's Kim Possible."
     The following year, I could begin collecting for myself. Chris drew a wonderful piece with Kim wearing a jetpack. I was reading the Disney Adventures digests and arranged for sketches by Craig Rousseau. Animator Tom Bancroft was exhibiting in San Diego to promote his Opposite Forces comic book. I bought a published Kim Possible comic page by Tom and inker Howard Shum. Tom also drew a sketch for me and said: "She's fun to draw." Howard offers his sketches on ebay and draws many of the show's cast. Hugo, artguy.net, offered some Phil Allora pages.
      Louie del Carmen, a story artist for the show, began doing cons to promote his self-published books Random Anomalies, Wayward Traveler, Steel Noodles, and other projects. He finds the character a good match for his style. Dave Bullock worked on the title sequence and drew storyboards. He came to a small anime con in San Francisco while working on Star Wars Clone Wars at Lucasfilm Animation. I was able to get a Kim Possible drawing for myself while getting a Teen Titans drawing for Riley on a print I bought. Dave drew covers for DC's Teen Titans comic books. The first issue cover included a street sign bearing the name of producer Glen Murakami. Later, my friend John and I each bought a page of Dave's title work.
      I've bought all the DVD's to date while waiting for box sets. The first two seasons are now available, but only through the Disney Movie Club. I'm enjoying all the shows I missed and watching the credits for more artists I know.
