CIRIELLO AVERARDO
Born in Milan, Averardo Ciriello made his debut as an illustrator at the Acqua Salata weekly in 1944. He joined L'Intrepido a year later, where he illustrated the episodes of 'Il Principe Azzurro' and the episodes of 'Giorgio Duca di Serano'(written by TREDDI aka Domenico del Duca). At the same time he started to paint Original movie posters (Spie del Mare), in his long career he painted over 3000 excellent movie posters. He became a cover artist for another weekly magazine called "Sette" (these covers showed gorgeous pin-up girls in black and white ink-wash), he took also on the comic page 'Memorie di Giacomo Casanova', which was followed by 'Casanova Farebbe Cosi' and 'Bel Ami'. He started the series 'Follie 1947". Ciriello became an illustrator and cover artist for such periodicals as Marc'Aurelio in the early 50's and Domenica del Corriere in 1966. In the 1970s,when the field of the movie posters started to going dawn, he was the cover artist of the erotic comic series 'Maghella' and "Lucifera" a really great success. Maghella covers
