Momand, Pop
Arthur "Pop Momand (1887-1907) was the creator of Keeping up With the Joneses, which ran from 1913 to 1938. The phrase "Keeping up with the Joneses" was coined by Momand with the strip's title, and the strip featured Al McGinis and his wife who lived next door to, you guessed, the Jones family. The character of Al McGinis pre-dates Billy DeBeck's Barney Google, though there is somewhat of a resemblance between the two short-stature characters. Momand had a lively pen style, and his figure movement was quite well done.
