In May 2016, the "New 52" era gave way to the "DC Rebirth," leading to yet another renumbering of all DC's titles. The innovations of the New 52 were mostly undone, returning to the previous status quo. The next few years saw a flurry of relaunches: New Justice (2018–2021), Infinite Frontier (2021–2023), and Dawn of DC (2023), all attempts to convince distributors and fans (but especially corporate bosses) that something new and exciting was happening. None of these facelifts had any dramatic effect on story or sales.
