Mike Maihack is the cartoonist of Cleopatra in Space, a science-fiction adventure story. It started as a webcomic and is now published by Scholastic's Graphix. I first saw some examples of his art on his deviantart site. I bought a few things from his Operation Space Cat store. When the American Library Association Annual Conference was in San Francisco in 2015, I got the chance to meet Mike in person. I saw him at the San Mateo Library in 2018 and Mike drew remarques in my Cleopatra books.
DreamWorks Animation created a Cleopatra in Space series for the Peacock streaming service. One can see the official trailer on YouTube.
Spider-Man graphic novels have been his main work for the last couple years. Animals Assemble saw Spidey volunteer for action as the Avengers dealt with major antagonists, but becomes their pet sitter as they go off for adventure. Two more are in progress.
Mike made a public post on his Patreon describing his SuperBatober ink and watercolor process.
