DC Comics has announced in their February 2021 solicitations a new anthology series called Truth and Justice, which seems poised to explore the publisher’s deep bench of characters, doing so in digital-first stories that will eventually be compiled in print editions. At least, that’s how it looks at launch. Truth and Justice will debut digital-only on January 8, with the first of three $.99 weekly stories. Those stories will then be collected in a 40-page print edition available February 16. So, that’s the format. The other main quality of this book is that it looks like it will focus on DC’s less-heralded deep bench characters, while giving rising creators a chance to write them. The first story, for example, will be about the character Vixen, from the creative team of writer Geoffrey Thorne, artist ChrisCross and Jordi Tarragona. “This series continues in the tradition of popular DC titles such as Adventures of Superman, Sensation Comics, and Legends of the Dark Knight, exploring the length and breadth of DC’s rich character history,” DC wrote in a press release. “In addition, the series will serve as a platform for new, emerging storytellers to reveal their takes on popular DC characters.”
