Simone Massi
Massi è un «animatore resistente». Resiste alle sirene di una società in cui tutto deve essere facile, veloce. Resiste alla scorciatoia del digitale, in nome del lavoro manuale. Resiste alla mancanza di memoria e di valori. Lo fa con le armi del sogno e della bellezza, con solenne semplicità. Vive in una vecchia casa di campagna tra le colline marchigiane, lontano dal mondo dello spettacolo e della cultura «che conta». Eppure i suoi film sono stati selezionati in festival di 59 paesi del mondo, raccogliendo 225 riconoscimenti, e vengono considerati tra i più importanti dell’animazione d’autore contemporanea, tanto che la Mostra del Cinema di Venezia nel 2012 gli ha chiesto di realizzare la sigla del festival. Simone Massi, 44 anni, realizza le proprie opere in solitudine e in totale indipendenza, disegnando ogni singolo fotogramma.
