Adventures of the Jaguar #3 - Archie Comics - 1961

This is the artwork from the entire issue of Adventures of the Jaguar #3. This comic was published in 1961 by Archie Comics and was the last 10 cent issue. The issue features three stories, "The Fourth Dimensional Force," "The Sea Circe From Space," and "The Nightmare From 2261 A.D." There is also a one-page ad for an issue of "Adventures of the Fly." When I purchased this artwork, I was told that it was the complete issue (minus ad pages, of course), but I have since heard that there was another one-page story called, "The Day The World Ended," but it was just text-based (no artwork) and so, like the ad pages, it wasn't included in the purchase. All three stories are written by Robert Bernstein and penciled and inked by John Rosenberger. Apparently in those days, their in-house talent all wore multiple hats. I always liked Rosenberger's art as I though he had a more realistic style than a lot of other artists during that time period -- especially when it came to drawing faces. All of his characters have facial characteristics that actually make them look different from each other. However, the same couldn't be said for his monsters, creatures and aliens. They all had a "sameness" about them. In fact, if you notice, with rare exception, they almost always have two fangs very prominently placed in the front of their mouths. They must have all gone to the same dentist. I have to admit that, when I was a kid, I really enjoyed both the Jaguar and the Fly comics. They were some of my fondest "reads" from that time period.
