This was Alcala's FIRST full art story he did for Marvel! From the story "Blood Death". George is getting old and contemplates on how to live forever. He sees an ad in the paper for an attractive vampiress seeking a warm-blooded man. He leaves his wife and heads to the address in the ad and meets Mina. She bites him, but his wife decides to have him cremated. In this masterpiece 8-page story, we see Alcala's master craftsmanship on BOTH, pencils and inks. You can see how special this must initial work must have been to Alcala from the carefully done titles on each page in the margins, down to the extra detail of the cross-hatching in many of the pages Check out the detail of the tufted interior of the coffin in the last page. A stunning work entirely by the talented hand of Alcala who even does the lettering. Alcala had an amazing talent, especially in capturing the eerieness of horror stories.
