I just finished this recreation of the cover from Turok #1 that Bart Sears and I created for Valiant back in 1993. I used photocopies of both the pencils and the inks to create this piece. Anyone familiar with the printed foil cover will notice that there was a lot of stuff cropped out by Valiant. You should see the cover for #2... The piece is drawn on a bright white Bristol board, 11" x 17" and the art runs nearly to the edges - just like Bart wanted. I inked it with the same tools as back in the day - Series 7, Winsor & Newton #2 watercolor sable and my ancient Rotring Rapidographs. I did not begin to use dip pens until after this period. All my inks were done with mechanical pens and I drew the thick to thin lines. I called them, "Double Taps." The piece is not an exact copy - but it is really very close. I do credit Bart & myself in the signature block - moved to the right side instead of the left on the original. Another difference is that there was no bowstring on our original. Valiant added that. The piece is for sale - I'm asking $3,000.00 for this piece.
