El dibujante Guillermo Divito (1914-1968) era un rico tipo, amante de chicas creador de “Chicas”, en “Rico Tipo”. La revista Rico Tipo, creada en 1944, fue una revista de autor, nacida de la necesidad de un dibujante que empezó muy joven y llegó donde quiso. Con 14 años vendía algunos dibujos para publicaciones institucionales y fue profesional en Caricatura Universal, una revista que se convirtió en presagio de su carrera, con tono picaresco y a veces explícito en un erotismo no tan ingenuo ni liviano. Su consagración la logró en la prestigiosa revista Patoruzú donde recibió el empujón definitivo, hacia la salida, porque se tuvo que ir, según se cuenta, por el desparpajo de las incipientes chicas que dibujaba y que escandalizaban al moralista Dante Quinterno. Ya instalado en casa propia liberó a las esculturales chicas de curvas vertiginosas, cintura exigua, larguísimas piernas y una lengua filosa y cínica con los masculinos que se rendían a sus pies, ellos enfundados en elegantes trajes cruzados de tres botones, los “trajes Divito”. “Rico Tipo” fue mucho más que un catálogo de mujeres despampanantes. Divito tenía una antena con la que captó, para enseguida proyectar, el ser porteño. Lo venía haciendo en otras revistas, pero aquí pudo reunir a todos sus personajes y un ejército de excelentes escritores y dibujantes lo secundaron. Más allá de cualquier consideración de género, Divito, junto a la belleza estereotipada de las mujeres, las presentaba poderosas e independientes, al punto de crear una revista para ellas, “Chicas”, en aquella época, un contrapunto a las publicaciones mojigatas para señoras.
