The great TAD (A.K.A. Thomas Aloysius) Dorgan was one of King Features' mainstays. He was considered a favorite of William Randolph Hearst's and the right hand man of editor Arthur Brisbane (or as TAD referred to him, "ol Double-Dome).
TAD was an astute observer of the times in which he lived. He's credited with creating or popularizing a whole host of slang, including "dumbbell", "ball and chain" and "gyp". While TAD was associated with the strips Judge Rummy and Silk Hat Harry's Divorce Suit for many years, it may be his Indoor Sports andOutdoor Sports panels that brought him the most acclaim.
