CARDY - Fight Comics 52 ( Oct 1947 ) - Senorita Rio story
Re-uniting the pages to this story took 5 transactions from 1998 to 2007. Glad it's over.
Rita Farrar, American film star was recruited by the Secret Service (or OSS??) during WWII.
Using her celebrity as a cover for her travels... she sought to protect us from America's enemies below her southern borders as... Senorita Rio !!!
There's a funny caption on page 3, "she hears a strange babbling of foreign tongue". Would that foreign tongue be Español ?? Considering her name is Senorita Rio, she operates below the US's southern borders with lots of Spanish names used so casually, I sure hope it's not strange babbling to the Senorita.
Nick drew Senorita Rio starting with her first appearance in Fight Comics 19 (June 1942). With the end of World War II, Nick returned home and took back the Senorita Rio reigns from Lily Renee. Here's Nick Viscardi / Cardy's art to the Senorita Rio story from Fight Comics 52 (Oct 1947).
