Vuillemin, Philippe (France)
"Vuillemin" represents the essence of being french, telling absurd but very funny jokes about his proper heritage, not shy to provoke or shun any taboos. Starting out in the underground press in the mid-seventies, doing features for Hara Kiri, Métal Hurlant, Charlie Mensuel & Echo des Savanes among others. Throughout the early eighties he publishes his first personal comic albums: "Saine Ardeur (1980)", Sueurs d'homme (1981)", "Frisson de Bonheur (1983)", "Raoul Teigneux contre les Druzes (1984) & "Hitler = SS (1986)". From 1987 on Vuillemin takes over the "Sales Blagues" strip-series from Reiser which marks his later publications. Today his works are published in publications spanning the whole spectrum, from underground press to common lifestyle-zines.
