The Denny O Neil/Neal Adams Green Lantern/Green Arrow run is the series that holds a spell on me. I bought most of the issues off spinner racks in neighborhood drug stores, Mom and Pop stores, and newstands. I can remember reading each issue over and over, revelling in the anti establishment slant, the romance, and the art. I loved the way that Neal drew the speed lines that trailed when GL flew, every "oath" panel rocked, the "new" GA costume was the coolest, Black Canary and Carol Ferris were stone cold, and GA's apartment was what I thought bachelor living was about. When my brother came home from college for summer vacations, I would give them to him to read because I felt they were so cutting edge. Fast forward 35 years, the art from that series remains my nostagic Neal Adams favorites, and the original pages from those issues are the pages that I badly want.
