Wendy Pini

Wendy and Richard Pini( b. 1951 & 1950, USA) created the succesful comic series 'Elfquest'. The stories describe the adventures of a group of elves searching for a new home. The first saga containing 21 issues, self published by WaRP (Wendy and Richard Pini), appeared in the spring of 1978. The stories contain autobiographical elements, set in a fairytale world, which is vast and complicated with lots of personages. The popular saga still continues today with many spin-off series, reprints, and new mini-series. Wendy Pini, born Wendy Fletcher, contributed several covers and illustrations to Galaxy Science Fiction and Galileo magazines in the mid-1970s, before launching 'Elfquest'. In addition to 'Elfquest', she also created two issues of a comic-book adaptation of the TV series 'Beauty and the Beast' (First Comics) and has illustrated occasional stories for both Marvel Comics (Epic Illustrated, Triton) and DC Comics.
