The Brave and The Bold Series 3 Issue 21 Page 1 starring Green Lantern by Alex Ross's penciller

With his renewed popularity, Green Lantern Hal Jordan alongside Batman kicked off the 2006 The Brave and The Bold 3rd series. (The 1955 1st series was kicked off by The Golden Gladiator, The Viking Prince & The Silent Knight; the 1991 2nd mini-series was kicked off by Green Arrow, The Butcher & The Question.)

After his appearance at the launch of the series, Green Lantern returns to team up with Green Arrow and The Phantom Stranger in the story arc "Without Sin" (issues 19 to 22). This is the only GL full page splash in the story arc and depicts the alien The Purge killing GL after having his power ring drained. The artwork of the 4 issues were done by Doug Braithwaite (pencils) and Bill Reinhold (inks and lamp black gouache washes). Doug was renowned for being the penciller of Alex Ross's Justice. The Phantom Stranger came to GL’s aid in Justice issue 8. Interested viewers may like to check up that issue and compare the artwork therein with those of the present story arc.
