The 1987 Spider-Man Vs. Wolverine one-shot holds a special place in my heart. It is one of those books that I read over and over again, and many a page is seared into my psyche. It also holds the distinction of being the first comic book I ever read with Wolverine, and led me to add the Uncanny X-Men, and all things Mutant related, to my reading list.
Last year when I acquired
my favorite page from this book from
Rick Loshiavo he offered to give me first right of refusal on this page, as well as
page #55 since I couldn't afford all three at the time.
I had always intended to purchase these remaining two pages from him as soon as I had paid down some credit card debt; but as is usually the case with me, as soon as I had a little paid off something else popped up I "had to have." Well Rick finally had someone inquire about one of the pages a couple months back and true to his word he reached out to me to find out if I was still interested in the pages. I of course was, and I just finally did what I had to do to finally add these beauties to my collection.
As you might imagine, I'd really love to add page #54 to have four sequential pages... truth is I'd love to add any and all pages from this book to my collection!
Thanks again to Rick for seeing fit to sell me all three of these pages. They really are some of the best of the book. Depicting the very same scene that the cover does, and adding them really has taken the sting out of losing out on that cover for a second, and final time, given the hammer price. I've been very lucky dealing with a lot of great people in this hobby, and Rick is one of the most generous, and kind, of the bunch!
